Ascent Trip ReportStarted out from Eklutna Lake Parking around 10am. The first 2-3 miles is the official trail, with some nice lookouts over the Lake. Then when you hit the bench at the end of the official trail, you gotta squirt out on a little game trail looking thing. The little trail leads down to a nice little stream for filtering out some water.
Then comes a long, steep uphill hike that eventually gets to the fun part: scrambling up the last 1000 ft or so. From the top, there is a nice view of Palmer, as well as a stunning view of Eklutna Lake and the glacier behind! When I was looking at the peak on the way up, there was a perpetual cloud shrouding the peak in mystery, but it cleared off when I got up there.
All in all, is was about 6 hrs up, 3 hrs down, sick views, and lots of fun! There were a few people on the official trail, but after that, it was just me.
