Ascent Trip Report

A drive/walk up from the south side.

From our campground in Waterboro, south end of Little Ossipee Pond, we traveled north to Limekick, then northeast on #11 for .9 miles to a left turn on Emery Corner Road. At .7 miles we made a left on Quarry road and traveled the paved Road for 2.6 miles to the Quarry gate, where the road enters the Quarry and continues/climbs/winds steeply to the summit ...... a flat area with picnic tables and a large sign saying that this is the Highest Point in York County, however Clark Mountain across the col to the northwest looks definitely higher. We parked below the summit at the Communication Tower. The beautiful open summit offers great views and is worth the visit.

From this summit we couldn't find the road to Clark Mountain so we changed our plans and headed over to Sawyer Mountain before going to the village of Cornish, looking for the another route to Clark ..... as it turned out the best route to Clark.
