Ascent Trip Report

After getting back to the saddle from Camel Peak, I headed north along the road going up the ridge toward the Duck Creek Range HP. This is a very steep road ascent on big loose rocks. I followed the road well beyond where it ends on the topo and veered off the road were it reaches contour line 3100. From here it was easy open country up a few feet to the summit (all class 2 walking). When I got to the summit I could see the road comes up to within 10-15 feet of the summit on the north side.

I followed the ridge back down until it rejoined with the road and then walked the road back to the ATV. Had I wanted I could have ridden the ATV to the summit and a skilled 4WD driver could possible make it to the summit in a vehicle, but the steepness and loose rocks would be a challenge. Camel Peak was a more enjoyable and rewarding hike.
