Ascent Trip Report

Hiked up and returned using Audubon Trail, continuing to Paiute Peak. This was my first mountain climbed over 13,000 feet, and it was several years before I climbed a 14er, so the memory of this climb is special to me. Perhaps more than anything I remember looking down at small blue ponds from the top of Paiute. I also remember carefully considering the weather atop Audubon before committing to the traverse over -- the first time I'd done this in the Rockies, but not the last.
