Ascent Trip Report

Nice two-day climb. Still snow-covered stretches on the PCT, traction not really necessary, but traverse with care. Camp at Upper Snowy. Started climb at 5 a.m. Route is exactly per most descriptions. Head for cave, traverse ledges to central gully, stray right and find smaller brown gully, ascend to exit point just below "white vee" on headwall. There are still patches of unavoidable steep snow in the gully, so I advise axes and crampons if going anytime soon. We did OK with micro's and poles, but would definitely have preferred the former. Not terribly loose in gully, but easy to knock large crap into it from ledges above so be very conscientious about possibility of others below you.
