Ascent Trip Report

Hiked with Em. After having not hiked the day before due to weather and lightning in the forecast, I said "the hell with it!" today and hiked regardless of those factors. Probably stupid but I'm fine. Very cloudy with rain off and on. Started ascent from ski lodge at 10am. Off and on rain and heavy wind the entire time. Occasion gap in clouds allowed very modest view and a glimpse of sun. The hike up the ski area trails was intense, but I feel like I've hiked much harder trails. Em really struggled. The hike across the ridge was slippery but we made it without any issue. Ran into another few brave souls and one AT hiker on the ridge, all surprising considering the forecast, but it made me feel less stupid for having hiked it. After the Horn, the wind got pretty intense though it didn't pose a threat to my safety. Not views from summit, just the endless cloud that shrouded the mountain all day. On the way down, I ate it about 5 times in the mud, BUT, we found a TON of wild Strawberries :D
