Ascent Trip ReportParked on County Rd 5 (Osmer Rd) at the junction of the red trail, south of Barret Pond. There was no trail head parking, but there was room on side of road. Followed red trail to old dirt road and made a left. Followed it to the junction with Blue trail, went right and they straight up a steep single track which seems to be used mostly by mountain bikers. After a short steep climb the trail leveled off and within a few minutes intersected with the red trail again. I then went left and 5 minutes latter came to the top, where the old fire ranger cabin is and the fire tower. I first went to the a high point near the cabin and then went to the fire tower. However, the topo map indicates the tower is the high point though. A 360 degree View was great from top of tower. Then followed the red trail back to car. |
