Ascent Trip ReportRoute is still in great shape. Before noon, snow on the Whitman glacier was a little slushy, but the ice below was still firm, which made me think the descent would be a bit treacherous. But with a little cloud cover, the snow firmed up enough for good steps on the way down. The scramble is just fine. Where the rock is loose, there's no exposure. When there's exposure, the rock is not loose. Car to car. 10 hours up, 5 hours down at a very leisurely pace with lots of breaks. |
