Ascent Trip ReportFrom Oroville Quincy Highway, it's a 20min 5.2mi drive up to the top. In the interest of time, I elected to take my Hyundai Tucson SUV rental (6.5in ground clearance) all the way up to the top. My attached GPX track includes both the entire drive and also the short 50ft walk to the actual high point.
The road gets a lot of traffic as there are a number of homes and homesteads along the road. In the 20 minutes it took me to drive up, I saw at least a half dozen cars going in either direction. A normal car could make it all the way to the top without too much issue.
On the east side of the building, just past the dilapidated lookout tower, you'll see a charming path someone had tried to construct, lined with rocks, leading you to the high point. The high point was cleverly marked with a construction barricade.
Pretty cool views overlooking Lake Oroville.
