Ascent Trip Report

Ascended the SW slope from the basin below. Any approach to the base of the thimble looks like it works. We spiraled up around the left side.

Climbed (or more accurately, crawled) up 4th class ramp past a tiny tree on the south side. This would have been a lot easier if I had left my pack at the saddle below. The rest of the group climbed a more direct low 5th class route. On the way down, we all down climbed the short 5th class route with a belay.

After the thimble, we followed the ridge to Hawkins. Mostly easy class 2, with a couple quick class 3 spots. We dropped off the ridge a couple of times to avoid a couple exposed spots with questionable rock quality.
