Ascent Trip Report

After solving the problem of the two corner monuments (the white one along the Grandview Trail is the top of Columbia County, not the unpainted one down the social trail), I hoped to climb the tower on Red Rocks Mountain. The summit is incredibly flat and was likely leveled at some point. The signs on the fence surrounding the tower say that it's owned by the state park, also no trespassing. It's a shame since it looks as good as many I've been up elsewhere and the views are pretty limited over the tall trees that surround the summit. So much for a grand view. Maybe in winter.

On the way down I took the tower access road portion of the Grandview Loop and made it back to the car in quick time.
