Ascent Trip ReportAfter a 4th of July weekend trip that was lots of fun, but that resulted in getting neither of the bagging targets I had hoped for (Indian Head Peak and Mt. David), my girlfriend and I decided on our last day of the trip to do a nice, mellow walk that would also tick a (minor) list for me. The Alpine Lookout Trail was perfect for our needs. It does enough climbing to make you feel like you worked for something, but nothing intense. The area is lovely; the only bad thing I had to say was about the clouds of mosquitoes that dogged us most of the way, but that's what you get for going to the mountains in July. Views from the summit were outstanding.
