Ascent Trip Report

We took the same road as we did for Pearl Peak the day before, and, not having to drive the road north on the ridge, had a shorter, easier drive, requiring only high clearance. There is a maintained road which ascends nearly to the summit of Peak 9835 which could have been driven, but we chose to hike.

We left the road at the point a well/water collector feeds water into a pipe (about 9480') and followed animal trails to the ridge at about 9520' (just above some rocky outcroppings) at which point we found a really good trail (animal or use?) down the west side that brought us to the plateau below the mountain. From there, we made our way to the saddle below the southeast ridge and then up that. It was a very enjoyable route.

On the way back we ascended Peak 9835 (included in the time, but not the other stats).
