|Peak:||Elephant Mountain-Northeast Peak|
| Elevation:||3770 ft / 1149 m|
Ascent Trip ReportI was in the area hiking the AT, by chance I heard yesterday of today's AMC Group climb to Elephant, which was not in my plans, I decided to participate.
The group met at the Clearwater Brook TH on South Arm Road in the Black Brook Notch area, a huge group of 20 people started out, north-east on the Clearwater Brook trail. At about 3000' before it joined up with the AT the Group turned (north) left steeply to the summit, only to find out that we were on the Northeast Peak. Everyone was cheerful and ready to go on, we hiked west to the col then up to the Elephant summit (a short hike). Fairly open woods, going was slow due to the large Group. We returned back to the col then descended to the Clearwater Brook trail. An enjoyable day.
