Ascent Trip Report

Climbed up from the 60 lake basin via the south ridge. The ridge is class 2 almost the entire way and the summit of Cotter is a moderately exposed class 3 climb. I approached the summit block from the west side but I've heard most people use the southeast ridge. There are great views on top in every direction and the lakes about 1,000 feet below the summit have crystal clear water. My biggest warning is that the 60 lakes basin is loaded with mosquitos, so you should bring clothing that will not leave any exposed skin (including a head net) if you go during the summer months.
