Ascent Trip ReportBeautiful sunny day, comfortable air temperature, but hot in the sun. Very few bugs, lots of green growth and wild flowers. No other humans seen all day. A young buck, unafraid of us, wandered around the parking area.
The "trail" up to the peak is used by motorized bikes and is heavily damaged much of the way. It is still a good trip, but bring poles to help you stay upright on the extensive rocky, ball-bearing stretches. There is no trail to the summit, only a faint barely visible boot track. Download a gps track or follow a compass bearing to navigate along the peak's ridge. We did not have time for Elbow Peak. No snow, just a patch could be seen below Elbow's summit.
