Ascent of Copper Mountain on 2020-06-23
|Date:||Tuesday, June 23, 2020|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||6280 ft / 1914 m|
Ascent Trip ReportStats are for the entire trip as it was hard to parse out each individual section. Our original intent was to climb the Success Cleaver and descend the Kautz Ice Chute as a single push from Longmire. However, unconsolidated snow on the approach made us throw in the towel, so we just did a little onsight peakbagging of Copper and Iron before heading back. The mountain could use a couple more days of high freezing levels and sun for true summertime consolidation. Consistent snow was encountered just above the Devils Dream Creek crossing at about 5000'.
