Ascent Trip ReportAfter having stood on the summit three times before by driving up with the funicular, I today wanted to seize the opportunity of standing on the summit alone, because the Nebelhornbahn was under construction since a few months. Starting at my vacation apartment in Oberstdorf, I followed the tail through Faltenbachtobel upwards, passing several waterfalls. From Seealpe I took the trail northwards, passing hundreds of serpentines on my way up to Niedereck, the col between Rubihhorn and Gaisalphorn. The latter I climbed afterwards, reaching the summit after a short, but steep and exposed scrambling along the northwest ridge. On my way up to Nebelhorn I also climbed Gaisfuß and reached the summit at 2224 m after nearly 1600 metres of vertical gain, and, like expected, I was the only one on the summit. After a long break I continued down to Höfatsblick and along the beautiful Gleitweg I passed Seealpsee and reached the Oytal, which I followed down back to Oberstdorf. |
