Ascent Trip Report

Finally off the island of Montreal! Been getting through the pandemic by going for walks in the nature parks of the West Island and biking around Lakeshore, but it is good to get out into real nature. The Sépaq opened for lodging and we stayed in one of the nature chalets for a week. This is a good base for biking (loops with the Estriade and bike paths around Granby) and hiking in and around the park, as well as water sports in the reservoir. On day after arrival, we took this leisurely walk through nice forest and vestiges of old farms. The pinède trail pretty much goes to the highest point in the park, as far as I could tell. Pleasant warmup for a week that really rejuvenated me.
