Ascent Trip Report

Attempted DC route. Started off from Muir at 11:45 PM Thurs night, got 10-15 minutes in and triggered a big whumph, continued for 3 more minutes and then triggered another whumph, we discussed and decided to turn back, since we weren't even on avy terrain yet and skeptical whether the snow would get more stable higher up. As we were walking back and talking to the second group, a third whumph was triggered, and their team and the third and final team also turned back.

Bummer since the weather was gorgeous, completely clear night with all the stars out, the clouds that were forecasted overnight didn't roll in.
