Ascent Trip Report

I had my truck. I'm not sure I would have taken my Outback up NF 980. Dakota made it to 7200 ft where the snow became too deep. Occasional patches became solid 4 foot snow covering the road. Should be clear by 4th of July. There was sleet or snow the night before and the lookout and all the trees near the summit were thickly covered. The sun was melting the ice off and I couldn't go near the lookout because of the chunks of ice raining down.
