Ascent of Sunapee Mountain on 2020-06-12
|Date:||Friday, June 12, 2020|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Location:||USA-New Hampshire|
| Elevation:||2726 ft / 830 m|
Ascent Trip ReportI parked where the Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway crosses Halfmoon Pond Road, NW of Lovewell Mtn, and from there I ran the trail north to the summit of Mt. Sunapee, and then back south to my starting point. It was over 18 miles round trip, with over 3000' elevation gain, including significant climbing on the way back.
Now I have completed the 48-mile Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway Trail, in sections. This 9+ mile section of trail from Halfmoon Pond Rd to Sunapee is my favorite, as it is almost entirely single-track trail with no road crossings.
