Ascent Trip ReportBagged Killington Peak on a mid-week vacation day. Took the Bucklin Trail. Easy for first 2 miles, then steady climb for 1.4 miles to join the Long Trail at 3.4 miles. Short .1 mile climb to Cooper Lodge and then a steep .2 climb to the summit. Total distance was 3.7 miles. Up in 1:55; stayed on summit for 20 minutes, beautiful views, nice weather. Found summit marker. An iron bolt drilled into the stone with a carved triangle surrounding it. Research indicates that it was placed in 1880. Down in 1:45. Total hike with lunch and rest at summit was 4 hours. That was #3 out of 5 of the Vermont 4,000 footers- 2 more to go.
