Ascent Trip Report

Started at the Blue Rocks Campground. They charged 4 dollars for each of us, but made us park before the gate. Annoying. Struck out for the Yellow Trail, which was pretty steady uphill until the Col between Hawn Mountain and the main ridge. It eased up here, then kicked up for the last quarter mile. Stiff 2nd class for a bit, so be aware of this if you have kids, or health conditions. Hit the AT on the ridge and took it to Pinnacle overlook. Ate lunch and headed out toward Hawk Mountain, then crossed over the ridge to get back to the correct part of the AT. Crossed the high point in the woods there. Then we decided to go back via the Pulpit, as Katie had sore ankles and didn't want to try the steep section.
