Ascent Trip ReportTrail is snow-free to Kachess Beacon. We did the easy ridgewalk to Point 4844 (aka "Littler Kachess") from there. Got a bit stumped by the cliff section just after Point 4844. Tried going around to the right, but it looked sketchy. Planning on returning next weekend with a handline to investigate options going left or right around the cliffs - we didn't really investigate the left side that much.
There are some small snow patches to cross on the way to Point 4844 - nothing major. We got a pretty clear view of Little Kachess from our turnaround point, and while there were some larger snow patches on the way to the summit, it looked like we could go around them.
Weather was cool and cloudy, with some short rain showers. |
