Ascent Trip ReportThe road approaching the general area (heading up from US 6) was a pretty good road. It got interesting where we took the split (around 6,300') going to Little Ike Spring. Even the junction was hard to find as was a bit higher than indicated on the map. Then there were the plants over 3 feet tall growing in the middle of the road. Surprisingly, the road that heads off of it and goes north up the drainage east of the peak (which is not on the map) was a much better road.
The road actually continued fine past where we left it to ascend the peak. We parked a bit below there because we had three vehicles to park, and because I enjoyed starting out with some easy terrain before the steeper stuff started. |
