Ascent Trip Report

First time I've actually used the GPS for an entire hike. For both Sonora & Stanislaus from St Mary's Pass TH: 9.28 miles, 3.0 mph average speed, 8.2 mph max speed, 3 hrs 17 min moving time. I did Sonora Peak first. Some friends dropped me at the trailhead and moved as quickly as I could as it was already 3:30pm. I wanted the hardest parts near the top of Stanislaus Peak to be ascended and descended before the sun set. There is a trail pretty much the whole way up Sonora from St Mary's Pass. There is only one trail-less section along the flats to the east of St Mary's Pass. There are two wind shelters on the summit as well as a summit register. From Sonora Peak, I headed to Stanislaus.
