Ascent Trip ReportWe hiked Lucky Peak/Shaw Mountain by way of the Adelmann Mine trail, including a short detour to pop over to the mine before continuing up to the peak. This approach is a more scenic "trail" and included beautiful wildflowers and tree cover. Once in the evergreen part of the tree cover there are several forks. The first big one includes a two-track trail to the right and a single-track to the left. I went to the left, ran into another fork, and lost the trail a couple of times very briefly over an open hill/meadow. After meeting my hiking mate at the top, we both took the two-track trail on the back way down. I think this is the most direct approach. |
