Ascent Trip ReportThe baby and I started at the Wahlstrom winter TH, and followed the trail up to the ridge north of Pike Mountain. We then made a quick ascent of the summit before heading down the Pike Mountain Trail to Porcupine, using the Little Fork cutoff to get there. Then we took the Little Fork Trail down to Trail Canyon. Here it started to snow really hard. The weather eased up a bit by the time we made it to the junction, and then things cleared up a little part way up Trail Canyon. At Trail Canyon Spring, however, the snow returned with a vengeance, and it came with wind too. The baby hated that. There were some really friendly motorcyclists that I chatted with in Little Fork and again at the crest. They were very nice, and offered to share their fire with us. I politely declined and headed down to the TH again. It was an exciting outing. The area was beautiful.
