Ascent Trip ReportWas the first ones to the top for the Sierra Challenge. Started at the Green Creek trailhead and followed trail signs to West Lake. Jump off trail to the north up the canyon between the two peak to the south. Loose boulders and fairly steep Class 2. After sitting at the top for a few minutes, went down the west side to Bergona Lake. This took us a lot longer to go down than if we went down the way we came. Endless boulder hopping along the north side of the two lakes and going down the drainage between the lakes was very steep and required some tedious routes to avoid cliffs. One of the rare occasions where going down takes longer than going up. |
