Ascent Trip ReportAfter Harkley, I headed south along the ridge and was surprised to see an ATV trail leading up to the saddle of Harkley from the east side. Go figure, there is always an easier way up. The hike along the ridge was pleasant enough, very minor bushwhacking, a little avoiding the last remaining deep snow drifts and the a little loose rock coming up from the north side of the summit of Peak 8829.
The descent was down from the saddle on the south side of the peak, over a lot of deadfall until reaching one of the old mine roads. There was still some deadfall over the road making it impassable for vehicles, but it was a nice walk back to the truck without having to go across the open country which is littered with significant deadfall.
