Ascent Trip Report

Wheeew the Motherload! So stoked to have this in the bag and excited for next time. Full body workout & one big day.
Jeff, Terrence, Alex & I went went southbound and took the lower hiking trail back N to saddle before Browns. 9+ miles and about 8 hours car to car this had me whooped!
The Ridgeline between Browns & Brother (mid N) was epic fun. Scramble to Brother was enjoyable and much more tame than getting to Sister (mid S). The chimney above the Z ramp was too sketchy for me to downclimb free solo. Retreated and downclimbed steep slabs to get to ground level with saddle. Found a "trail" and took that over to saddle and rest of way was fine. Seems like the Z ramp would be easier going north.
Finally getting over to Amethyst was super easy mostly a steep loose faint trail once you downclimb some from Sister peak. Trail to return is in gulley between Sister & Amethyst.
Gotta say on of my favorite days out in awhile just an absolute blast. Everything is chunky enough and plenty of hand/foot holds most route you take in your "make your own adventure" scramble.
I would not recommend doing this alone or if you have fears/issues scrambling in remote territory with some very real exposure at times. It's a big day mentally, deliberate footsteps will keep you safe, don't get dehydrated & sloppy! Have fun & stay safe!
