Ascent of West Cedar Mountain on 2020-04-07Other People: | Solo Ascent Only Party on Mountain | Date: | Tuesday, April 7, 2020 | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | Peak: | West Cedar Mountain | Location: | USA-Arizona | Elevation: | 5489 ft / 1673 m |
Ascent Trip ReportI drove in via Agua Fria National Monument on Bloody Basin Road and Forest Roads 269 and 24. I drove out south via Forest Road 24 and Cave Creek Road (aka Seven Springs Road). The long drive in remote and sometimes steep country was the adventure for the day.
Most of the catclaw on the west ridge of the peak can be avoided. Watch for loose rocks in the grass and rattlesnakes (I saw none). |
