Ascent Trip ReportThe register on top was waterlogged. Tried my best to dry it out, but didn't have all day. Got the pages separated, but had to leave it damp. The lid seemed tight, so maybe it just isn't waterproof.
From the south, Mormon Well Rd was passable by medium clearance. Most of it is so rough I couldn't maintain 20mph. It takes a long time to get here from Corn Creek.
Drove out to the north for US-93. Much of it was smoother on hard-pack dirt. But that only makes it prone to being muddy when soaked. It also had some rougher parts that needed a little more clearance. It's also much more prone to washouts. There are gates where they must close this part on occasions. Check with the Desert National Wildlife Refuge. |
