Ascent Trip Report

Peak 6580, 6570, & 6460:
This is a pretty ridiculous route to get these 3 peaks, but I’m too lazy to move my truck once I park.
My route utilizes a mix of Jeep roads, animal paths, and lots of cross country for an absurdly long way to get these desert blobs starting & ending at Cheney Reservoir.
Cheney Reservoir is apparently a picnic area, but it’s not very nice looking and had a musty odor to it... or maybe that part was me, it’s been like 2+ weeks without a shower.
I was not paying enough attention while working my way down Peak 6570 to reach a 4wd Jeep road because I came across a barbed wire fence to worm through. Completely avoidable a bit higher up... While I awkwardly untangled all of my everything from the fence I looked down and spotted some elk encountering the same issue as me, but with much less difficulty.
Every time I tried to take a shortcut I soon regretted it. After leaving the 4wd road I made my own way towards Peak 6460 through scraggly meadows filled with dry, scratchy plants. Tumbleweed kept attaching itself to me and becoming a part of my wardrobe. It was like a cruel obstacle course of ground cacti & tumbleweed.
Peak 6460 was the smack daddy of steepness, and I loved it. After summiting I drudgingly made my way back through the not so frolick worthy terrain.
I encountered one other barbed wire fence ~1 mile from the reservoir. This one had a gate that could be opened with a sign asking to close it, but I just kinda rolled around in the dirt to go under it...
I always have such a hard time trying to figure out how to close these types of gates!

C2 route & 4wd road to reach the reservoir from Hwy 50
