Ascent Trip Report

No one at trail head 6:30 am. Icy conditions. Very little snow until about 2,000 feet. Very little post holing. Great to go early when cold and windy. Well packed trails. Did very well hiking for time. Very windy on the flat area to Middle Carter. GREAT views. Took them coming back. After Middle Carter then hiked to South Carter. Great views. Coming back the sun areas where soft and doing more post holing. It was about 3 feet of snow to and from on the ridge. Going to North Carter was tough since you were going 3 feet in the air and bushwhacking through the trees. But great views if you go past the viewpoint. Well packed but some areas where there are blowdown like coming up. The is some soft spots when going around.
