Ascent Trip Reportnote: I've decided that adding all man-powered distances and elevation gains into my ascents would count even if it included cycling to the location.
After coming back down from montagne à Simoneau, I rode my way towards Vianney. I had chosen to cut through farmland and use the back roads. I was deep into unknown territory and the going was hard. Every road was gravel and the sun was baking me to a roast. After a while, I approached the road from where my hike would start. At the intersection, I saw that it climbed steadily and decided to ditch my bike right there. I dumped it in the ditch and hid it with some plants. I then strode in the back road that led me to a trail going in the mountain. There were countless raspberry bushes and I ate my way up.
It was a nice little stroll in a nice cool forested area leading to a clearing at the summit. There it a permanent tent setup there and it seems that the trail network is used for skiing in the winter. I didn't want to stay long up there because of the bugs so I made it down eating all the raspberries I had missed on the way in.
This peak was easy although I was low on energy at that point in the day. Back to my bike, I decided to keep going until I found a suitable camping spot for the night.
