Ascent Trip ReportAfter reaching the summit of Sugarloaf, I had to locate the AT on the open summit. The ski patrol manager noticed me and pointed the way. The route to Spaulding was easy. Minimal snow to break trail on, and old snowshoe tracks that helped in navigating through areas of open woods. I reached the Spaulding in good time. I checked out the view point, then headed back to Sugarloaf. Upon reaching Sugarloaf, I went to the ski patrol shed. One of the rescue people gave me half a cookie. They also gave me a proper route back down (the ski trails to the furthest west). I took them down and reached the base lodge. I then drove over to Rangeley to meet up with Lynn K and Denise, along with others, for tomorrow's hike up Abraham.
