Ascent Trip Report

Drove up the steep and narrow Mix Canyon Rd. To the fork everyone else stops at. Could have driven all the way to the peak. Decided to hike it.

Easy road walk up to a trash filled area with towers. The benchmark is located outside the fence. Trash everywhere and trashed pickup with all the glass missing. Pretty sad summit. The views are amazing. An awesome 360 degree panorama. Unfortunately there were clouds towards the Sierras, so we did not see anything to the East.

Mix Canyon Rd is all paved and there are a surprising number of residences along the way up. Road is very narrow with a lot of one lane sections. Luckily only ran into 2 cars on the way down and hit them in good spots.

A deer jumped from the hillside and almost landed on my hood.
