Ascent Trip Report

Snowshoe with Audrey & Abby. Went up short yellow trail and down longer red trail. Do not recommend the short yellow trail with kids in the winter. The section with the rope was all iced up and was tough getting up with kids. The rope was a bit higher and out of the way for them as well. Absolutely need microspikes or snowshoes as the scramble is just a sheet of ice. And even then you will want to know what you are doing and be familiar with scrambling ice and securing your footing :) Sun and temp was awesome, not a cloud in the sky, was very exposed up woods and enjoyed the views. From the summit view be sure to go down through the woods even thought the trail dips a little bit into the woods but within 100ft or so a breathtaking view will emerge. The scramble was the adventure and the highlight of the hike and enjoyed teaching kids how to navi these.
