Ascent Trip Report

Parked on the Blue Ridge Parkway just above a road sign and hiked more or less directly up the northwest slope. On the way up, I stayed just south of a drainage that has lots of boulders in it, then followed the relatively flat summit ridge east to the summit. The summit area itself is rather flat. I descended on the other side of the drainage from the one I'd ascended, just for variety, though it was still essentially an "out and back" hike. The entire route that I took is wooded and within the Parkway boundaries. I rated this as a bushwhack, but it's fairly open forest, just a little steep.
