Ascent Trip Report

Anticlockwise circuit from the large car park at Pinella. Unusually for this time of year hardly any snow so all the ski lifts closed and village deserted. Access to the pistes is gated and fenced but we find a convenient hole to crawl under - though there must be a better way. Wide grassy piste to ridge at 2050m then rising traverse SW to col on the SW ridge of Pico del Lobo. Easy scramble up rime covered ridge to Point 2224m (there's also a path if you don't want the scramble) then onto Alto de las Mesas and Pico del Lobo. Summit dominated by crumbling remains of ski lift station. Good views. Paths all the way over Las Penuelas (P38) back to Pinella. We make the detour to Cerro del Aventadero.
