Ascent Trip Report

Getting a nice weather window in mid February Kate and I wanted to get out. She hadn't climbed Cervidae before, so we decided to go get it done! Having already climbed it via the "standard" route, I spent a little time and thought up an alternate route we could take to link Cervidae and Macks in a loop hike.

After a crazy steep scramble up to the first ridge this route was great! What we didn't anticipate was snow that we would run into after summiting Cervidae on the way to Macks. Neither of us were very prepared for snow hiking and the weather was coming in fast, so we decided to find a different way down. There was a nice ridge between Cervidae and Macks that we followed back to where we parked. This was an easy walk down except for one little rocky section that had a little exposed class 2 (or 3) section, making it quite fun!

**edit, check my 3/28 ascent for GPS track and video... we went back and completed this loop!
