Ascent Trip ReportComing from Graeagle, the road is closed at the Gold Lake Staging Area about 3 miles from Elwell Lodge.
Arrived at 6:30 am to nobody in the parking lot. Was sometimes able to find other paths to follow but made my own route for the most part.
If I did it again, I'd definitely just go south around Long Lake on the way up to avoid the steep snow walking.
Carried snowshoes but only used spikes the whole way. Minor postholing.
The summit log was very full and obviously had been soaked at some point. Definitely need a new notebook and watertight bag up there. |
