Ascent Trip Report

Parked in the day use lot of Dripping Springs Campground (and paid the day use fee of $5). I had checked recent trip reports and found that the trail would be closed for a month or so, starting March 1st; and that it had been recently trimmed, so decided to get this one done now.

Hiked through the campground and up the Dripping Springs Trail, past the signed junction for Wild Horse Trail until reaching the signed junction to the Palomar Magee Trail at mile 7. The trail was well trimmed to this junction and mostly in the sun. At the junction, turned left (only option due to brush) and after a little over one mile came to the use trail leading to the summit. The trail was easy to follow and well trimmed. Reached the summit and found the register next to the benchmark. Enjoyed the views and lunch and then headed back along the same trail to the car.

Thanks to those that recently trimmed the trail!
