Ascent Trip Report

This went surprisingly well. No access issues, parked close, easy slopes, open terrain, no loose crud or unnecessary cliffs. Parked in a pull-out north of second cattle grate (about a half-mile beyond MP-6). Then walked up the closest slope to the ridge, then up and over Peak 3322 and up to the main summit.

On the ascent I scared up 4 javelina. In one case I was within 20 feet of a big one. I heard snorting and grunting and then saw him in the brush ahead of me. They have bad eyesight and don't always run. Fortunately, this guy did.

Going down, I dropped north off the slope below Peak 3322, then worked up and down a series of gullies and ridges to get back to my car. The land is open and easy to navigate. On the descent, I got into the only scrambling of the day, about 30 vertical feet of heaped rock.
