Ascent Trip ReportA few tidbits beyond the excellent Bolton tracks. 1) there is good BLM land camping 8 miles further west than the quarry road. Details on iOverlander app.
2) we parked at the Canyon of the Ancient TH that is about a mile and a half west of the quarry road, and walked the road. To add ninja stealth, we stashed our gear in our coat pockets to avoid suspicion from locals.
3). There is a ton of snow in January. It was over a meter deep on top, and soft as quicksand. Bring strong teenager with you to bust trench. |
