Ascent Trip Report

Drove down the night before from MI and slept at the Alum Cave Bluff Trailhead. Starting hiking at 6:50am with headlamp, 35 degrees. 1.5 miles to Arch Rock at 7:35. Ice and snow starting just past here around 4400'. Probably should have used micro spikes from here to summit ridge. Cables along trail definitely came in handy as it was very icy in spots. 5.4 miles to Bull Head Trail intersection at 10:30. About 6 inches of packed snow here. Must have been a lot of traffic the day before. 5.5 miles to Cliff Top Trail which is just past the lodge. 5.7 to Cliff Top at 10:50. Beautiful views. Enjoyed it for about a minute until a couple showed up unexpected. Dude had shorts on ugh. Decided to move on quicker than expected toward High Top. Great climb with minimal people. Although the amount of people quickly grew on descent.
