Ascent Trip Report

Set your GPS to the Cross Road Baptist Church south of Asheboro and drive to the "summit" which lies either at a crack in the parking lot of the church or at some rocks next to the kids playground beside the Church. Either way, this HP is alternatively nutty or embarrassing. I had to explain to Church personnel I was there to measure the highest point on Cox Mountain. Again like the Brushy Mountains, problematic as NC continues to develop land and especially summits. The folks at the Church were kind, but I do not doubt them for being suspicious as it appears only 2-3 HP'ers have visited the area.
