Ascent Trip Report

Another Uwharrie range peak that has been(literally)gutted by the construction of new roads and homes. The traditional summit is now a pile of rocks in the side yard of a house at the top of Freedom Trail just south of Asheboro. The original true HP is now an excavated thruway to the NC Zoo set to open officially in 2020. The other "new" candidate for this ridge-hill is the side yard and highway right of way just over the overpass on "new" NC 159. Needless to say the hands of Man have mooted this peak to a great extent, if not technically wiping it out.

Thus endeth my sermon.
